Shin Megami Tensei veterans affirm “Monark,” a JRPG that may transfer in 2022

It has been talked about for the past few weeks, and NIS America has now uncovered Monark, a pretty intriguing JRPG that will hit Switch next year. It has a certain pedigree, with former Shin Megami Tensei developers involved in the project.

You can see an extended look in the video above; There seems to be a lot of mechanics at play here. There will be four companions, each of which will change your fate depending on the action; You also carefully manage your EGO as you progress and “your desires will change according to your words and actions”. Below is a summary of the story.

You suddenly wake up in the Shin Mikado Academy.

There is a barrier in front of you that separates the campus from the rest of the outside world.

The academy grounds are home to the maddening fog, cryptic phone calls that connect to the Otherworld, and seven pact bearers – each with their own demonic authority ruled by their ego.

To resist the irrationality that surrounds you, you acquire the authority of vanity, a demonic force that lives on your ego and insanity.

As you’d expect, there will be a fancy limited edition pictured above. If you want to see that or a whole lot of nice details about the game, check out the official website.

Are you looking forward to Monark?
