Take a look at the most recent Metallic Slug Code gameplay trailer: J.

SNK and TiMi Studios, the Tencent subsidiary behind the hugely popular Call of Duty: Mobile, have just released gameplay footage of their upcoming Metal Slug mobile game.

Temporarily titled Metal Slug Code: J, this is the third of the Metal Slug games announced by SNK last year, along with a hybrid action / card game as well as a PC and console game.

About the Metal Slug Code: J is still pretty rare, but the latest trailer has a lot of in-game material that gives a sense of the gameplay and style of presentation.

In terms of gameplay, it’s a pretty conventional metal slug game, with side-scrolling action and over-the-top shooty action in a range of environments. It looks like TiMi managed to get a lot of variety out of the 2D arcade shooter format. There is a wrong piece.

Graphically, Metal Slug Code: J eliminates the distinctive pixel art of the revered original in favor of nifty 2.5 graphics with detailed, flowing animation and some pretty great monster designs.

We’re not sure when Metal Slug Code: J will be out, but it looks relatively close to completion if the trailer is something to watch.
