‘Tides’ is an idle fishing sport developed by Vista Golf and is in search of beta testers – MCM Gaming – earlier than it launches February 2nd

The folks at Shallot Games, makers of titles as stylish and fun as Vista Golf and Sprout: Idle Garden, have announced their new mobile project and it will be launching in just a few weeks. This new game is called Tides: A Fishing Game. If you can’t figure out what the game is about from this title, I’m not sure what to tell you. Something that Shallot has done so well with his previous projects is combining the incremental progression systems of idle games with simple but compelling game mechanics and then packing it all into clear and colorful graphics and it looks like Tides are the same Pattern will follow. You can see how it all works in the following trailer.

Well, that’s a relaxed vibe, friends. Unlike most fishing games, Tides doesn’t have a very challenging or mechanically complex game when it comes to actually catching the fish. That might sound strange, but if you think of this as more of a very pretty and fancy idle game, it makes more sense. Tides is more about catching and collecting the different types of fish, unlocking and upgrading a number of cool watercraft, making a small island fishing empire min / max, and generally just enjoying the relaxing experience. Of course, all of this is still in flux and Shallot has already talked about new content ideas like a tournament mode that would add a challenging aspect to fishing.

However, if you want to see what the current version of Tides is about and then provide your own feedback and suggestions, Shallot is currently conducting an open beta test. You can find a test flight link for the iOS beta in this thread on our forums. The game as it currently is is pretty close to a release candidate, and there are still plans to launch Tides on iOS on February 2nd with an Android version that will follow some time later. This early feedback from players will no doubt help shape the immediate and long-term future of the game.
