Famitsu announced the top selling Japanese video games in 2020. 185.66 billion yen was generated from video game hardware and video game software. A total of 181.72 video games were sold. The Nintendo Switch family had sales of 5,956,943 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the best-selling game. The Nintendo Switch family sold 1.3 times more in 2020 than in 2019.
